Sustainability

RESPECTFUL WORK WITH THE FUTURE IN MIND

We believe sustainability goes much further than choosing the right kind of wood. It requires a respectful attitude to handling resources, employees, partners and customers. Careful material procurement, conscientious waste management, economical vehicles and sustainability in every operational aspect are a matter of course for us. The solar power system on our flat roofs generates most of the electricity we need for our workshop, and waste wood is used to fuel our heating.

We are passionate about wood and this affirms our efforts in environmental matters. We use solid timber and formaldehyde-free wood panels from Swiss suppliers certified with the FSC label that predominantly use native wood. We also like to use thermally hardened Swiss timber as it is stable and very frost-proof. The process of heat curing is environmentally friendly as it doesn't use chemicals and also strengthens native wood varieties. We use natural oils and waxes for treating surfaces and wherever possible avoid using organic solvents.
